KABUL, 29 October 2015 – Afghanistan First Lady Rula Ghani was among an estimated 150 people to attend a UN photographic exhibition in Kabul celebrating the extraordinary work of a group of Afghan professionals.
Each of the professionals – working in areas such as improved health care, de-mining, support for returning refugees and environmental protection – have made a positive difference in their fields, for the betterment of Afghanistan.
The audience, which included Afghan journalists, civil society groups and UN representatives, viewed a collection of specially commissioned panoramic photographs. Each photo (which can be viewed on unafghanistan.org ) contains three main scenes, highlighting key aspects of the professionals’ work.
